Last week six Democratic senators posted a video calling on people now serving to refuse to carry out illegal orders.
Trump freaked out and called for their execution – Irony alert, a demand to actually do that would be an illegal order.
That has been toned down, but he still said last Sunday …that he wants “the traitors that told the military to disobey my orders” in jail. On Truth social he called the senators “traitorous sons of bitches” and “pompous traitorous communists” who “should be impeached and prosecuted.”
You know how this plays out, we saw it Jan 6. It’s a siren call to his useful fools. Sure enough, the six have been getting death threats, while Trump allies fan MAGA outrage with outright lies about the video.
- Stephen Miller falsely claimed, “Democrat lawmakers are now openly calling for insurrection” and told Fox News viewers that it was “a general call for rebellion.”
- The RNC sent an email claiming “Democrats want to stage a military coup” and falsely claiming that the video “called for an all-out coup against President Trump and Pete Hegseth” by “directly asking troops to disobey their orders.”
- The Washington Examiner’s Elizabeth Stauffer wrote that “Democrats are openly calling for a military mutiny.” and claimed that video had “all the hallmarks of a psychological operation lifted straight from the CIA’s playbook.”
- Roger Stone claimed that it “is a call to arms for a revolt” and that “congressional seditionists” were emboldened by the fact that the Justice Department has not moved quickly enough to prosecute former “Deep State” officials.
But beyond all the bluster, we also saw this – The Pentagon has announced that Sen. Mark Kelly, a retired Navy Captain, would be investigated and could be recalled to active duty to face a court martial over what Hegseth claimed was a “seditious” video.
He has indeed now attempted to pervert The Pentagon into his own personal revenge weapon because a few senators hurt his feelings.
What the senators pointed out is a rather fundamental truth – Illegal orders are … well gosh, the hint is in the prefix, “illegal”.
“I was just following orders” was famously deployed in the Nuremberg trials and dismissed. It did not fly then and will not fly now. The legal principle is that individuals are responsible for their own actions and cannot use the orders of a superior as an excuse for committing crimes, particularly if the orders are illegal or clearly violate international law and moral principles.
Sadly, MAGA are just too dumb to grasp that once again they are being conned, and so they will once again gulp down the cult cool aid and declare it to be yummy stuff.

Trump granted the man asylum this spring. Trump agreed with the program that brought him here in 2021. There was full vetting. Trump’s DC op is why this happened. Now it’s being used to end all immigration from nonwhite countries. And undo the Biden presidency.
It is not often I actually agree with Jeanine Pirro, but hey, the broken clocks twice a day rule really does sometimes kick in. As for her suggestion, it is literally what everyone on the right has been doing doing. Then we learned it was the Trump admin that granted him asylum, and even with that insight most are still blame-storming “them”. If only Republicans would blame the shooters more often instead of trying to use deranged acts by individuals for political gain.
As for why he did what he did, well here is your moment of raw clarity. We (the CIA) totally fucked him up and turned him into a killing machine …
