CBS News fired its longtime 60 Minutes anchor Scott Pelley last Tuesday evening.
Why?
Pelley has revealed that they demanded that he should lie on 60 Minutes. He refused, so they fired him.
History will be very kind to Pelley. Not so much to CBS News.

Previously we have seen the firing of Colbert from CBS. I guess it was inevitable even then that CBS without the big C is just BS. This latest firing only cements that conclusion.
It takes years to build a reliable audience, and no time to destroy it all.
- A work environment with the firings of staff based on color is by definition Hostile, and Weiss did exactly that.

…According to the Post, show production has effectively stalled. People with knowledge of the Wednesday atmosphere described a newsroom where “few people were working and the production had largely ground to a halt.”

The abyss had unemployment around historic lows, functioning elections, churches on every corner, and Eric Metaxas freely making money by telling everyone he was being oppressed. Some abyss. Very spacious. Good Wi-Fi.

- This is the purest MAGA preacher “logic” imaginable: stolen valor for people too lazy to steal it properly. He didn’t serve, didn’t sacrifice, didn’t wear the uniform, but please respect his imaginary battlefield promotion in the War on Mean Tweets.
Rick Green is hopeful that Republicans have racked up “enough victories and good will” that they will maintain control of Congress in the midterm elections, especially once voters realize “how crazy the Democrats have been.”
- Nothing says “good will” like spending years screaming about drag queens, banning books, defending Trump’s every meltdown, and treating democracy like an optional extra.
- Meanwhile “Crazy” Democrats want healthcare, voting rights, and functioning government, all totally “insane” stuff that nobody wants.
- Michele Bachmann’s theology is basically: “Blessed are the warmakers, for they shall receive swing districts.” She is not describing democracy; she is describing a celestial protection racket where a God hands out congressional majorities as a reward for bombing the right people.
- There is indeed lying going on here (Hint: It is not those that reject to very robustly debunked claim).
- The founding document doesn’t mention Jesus, Christianity, the Bible, or the Ten Commandments, but it does ban religious tests for office and protect religious freedom. That’s awkward for a self-proclaimed prophet trying to sell the idea that secular constitutional government is a satanic conspiracy.
- Apparently “fake news” now includes reading the actual Constitution, while “truth” means letting Hank cosplay as God’s press secretary for MAGA nationalism.
Jenna Ellis complains that “our natural rights, over the last 250 years, have been transformed into civil rights” and now “the LGBTQ mafia” has been given priority over religious freedom for Christians.
- Jenna Ellis is doing the classic Christian nationalist magic trick: redefining “religious freedom” as “my right to discriminate without consequences,” then acting persecuted when LGBTQ people are treated like full citizens.
- Hint: Religious Freedom does not mean that you get to impose your beliefs on others, that’s not how it works.
- Religious Freedom means that she has the Freedom to identify as an obnoxious bigot, and everybody else has the freedom to tell her to Fuck Off when she tries to impose that.
Lance Wallnau is outraged that multiple artists refused to participate in the Trump administration’s “Great American State Fair”: “I hope they suffer for this. I really do.”
- Artists declined a gig, and Wallnau responded like they had burned down Mount Rushmore. or repossessed the Liberty Bell. Nothing says “Christian patriotism” quite like wishing suffering on musicians because they refused to be props at a Trump-branded county fair with delusions of empire.
- It turns out the “Great American State Fair” already has its main attraction: a grown man rage-praying because celebrities refused to sing in Dear Leader’s very own personal petting zoo.
- Hitler, the guy who rather famously led an ultranationalist, racist, militarist, anti-Marxist movement that jailed and murdered socialists, communists, trade unionists, and left-wing opponents … was a leftist because he was vegan!!!

That’s because he is the real deal, a guy who actually practises and promotes the actual teachings of Jesus, and by doing so exposes the pseudo-Christians for what they really are.
