Weird Religious News – Religion makes absurd ideas socially acceptable

Throwing a spotlight upon absurd items of weird religious news on a weekly basis is not about criticising people for being religious, but rather is about criticising absurd ideas that use religion as a cover to get a free social pass.

If people are overt outright bigots, then generally that stance will be socially ridiculed, mocked and rejected. If however those same people find a bible verse that justifies their existing bigotry or daft idea, then it rolls forth as a sincerely held religious belief that must not be mocked or even criticised.

Yes this really does happen, but what is truly shocking is that it is acceptable to many. It really works, and yet why should it. Now is the time to throw a spotlight upon this con.
