Weird Religious News – Porn Again

Let’s start this week’s posting of weird religious news with a bit of good news. The ongoing decline of the popularity of belief continues. A gallop poll conducted a couple of weeks ago asked the question “Who do you have confidence in?”

The top three winners that scored the top “A great deal” slot are not a surprise …

  • The Military – 74%
  • Small Business – 67%
  • The Police – 54%

A big looser was “The Church or organised religion”. That only scored 38%, and that’s an all time low. It used to be up at 69%

If you are wondering why, then simply scan the news for the religiously inspired lunacy that pops up week after week. Below is what happened this week.

What happened during the past seven days?

Don the Con’s gullible disciples continue to bow down and worship their messiah …

SCOTUS continues to attract attention from the delusional …

Apparently “Bugger peace and human rights, do what the bible says for Israel“, is a thing ..

Conspiracy thinking has been clearly taking steroids …

Jim Bakker was once again churning out his weekly dose of end-times fear to con the gullible into buying his overpriced survival buckets …

Democrat’s are apparently on par with child molesters, and yes, it’s Liz once again. This appears to be her thing …

  • Liz Crokin says that “a vote for a Democrat is a vote to support pedophilia & child sex trafficking.”

Blatant and very overt racism pops up …

This is the weirdest claim of the week …

  • David Barton says that Independence Day was designed to be a national religious holiday, just like Christmas:

On Christmas, we celebrated the principles Jesus Christ brought into the world through his birth. On the 4th of July, we celebrated bringing Christian principles into America and spreading that throughout the nation.

… or  perhaps this is …

… or even this might be …

… then again there was also this.

It really is a problem to decide what the weirdest actually is, because there is so much to choose from in just a seven day period.

As an aside, did any group do worse than 38% in the poll?

Well yes, one group only got an 11% thumbs up.

Can you guess which group that is?

(insert drum roll here)

It was Congress.
